Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare new 32v32 Ground War mode coming to cross-play beta this weekend

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare – prepare for vehicles in Ground War

A new 64-player mode is coming to the Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare cross-play open beta.

Infinity Ward has given fans an update on the progression of the beta over the course of last weekend and have unveiled, via the Message of the Day, that a 32 vs. 32 player Ground War mode is coming.

Ground War will be available to play on 21 September, when the open beta is finally accessible to Xbox One and PC users who did not get early access.

Karst River Quarry is the only map the new game type will be playable on, but we have yet to see official footage of Ground War in action.

It’ll no doubt be a hectic mode with 64-players on the battlefield and a major contrast to the 2v2 Gunfight mode that was the focus of the game’s alpha test.

For the first time vehicles will also be on the map, including helicopters, and since you’ll still have killstreaks the action is likely to get very Michael Bay very quickly.

Outside of the battle royale Blackout mode from Black Ops 4, this is the first time a Call Of Duty title has attempted such large-scale action, as it starts to encroach on Battlefield territory.

If you need more information on the beta we’ve got you covered.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on 25 October for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
