Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 3 promo leaks, double XP extended

After a disastrous weekend, the double XP event for Call Of Duty will continue till tomorrow, as more Season 3 details emerge.

The bonus XP event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone will be extended for another day, after the weekend event had the not inconsiderable problem of not awarding players their experience points.

As a result, you’ll still be able to earn double XP on all your matches until 7am on Wednesday, 8 April. Or, as we like to call it in the trade, tomorrow.

That’s also when Season 3 for both games will launch, which we now know a little more about thanks to Activision accidentally sending out a promotional email early.

According to Charlie Intel, that is Alex from the Modern Warfare campaign in the promotional artwork. Rather than being dead, as everyone assumed, it seems he only lost a leg.

The promo image seems to show the tier 100 alternate skin for Alex and also confirms new content for all three modes of the game: normal multiplayer, Spec Ops, and Warzone.

Season 2 didn’t have any new Spec Ops additions, so while the leak doesn’t offer any more specific information it does prove that developer Infinity Ward aren’t abandoning the mode.

As you can see, there’s also a promise of returning operators, new gear, and that worlds will collide.

It’s unclear what the worlds collide bit is about, but a good guess would be characters and/or maps from previous games.

Not a major leak, but it suggest Season 3 will be a good one (pic: Activision)
