Call of Duty Mobile Controller UPDATE: Great news for PS4, Xbox fans before release date

Call of Duty Mobile gamers will soon be able to play the game using controllers rather than touchscreen.

This follows official COD Mobile Controller Support being pulled just as the game left beta and hit live servers around the globe.

But now the COD development team are ready to bring it back and look set to include support for many of the leading Bluetooth setups.

According to leaked patch notes, the new COD Mobile Controller Support will include PS4 and Xbox One options.

This means that gamers who already own consoles will be able to pair their devices with their phones and start playing right away.

This removes the need to buy a special Bluetooth Controller online, although not all PlayStation and Xbox controllers have this functionality.

It should also be noted that this PS4 and Xbox One support has not been confirmed officially by Activision yet.

The team has revealed that more news will be shared today, November 22, via social media channels.

So most of the biggest questions should be answered soon enough, including how Call of Duty Mobile Controller Support will function.

Will players be able to use controllers through all of the game, or will it only be an option during matches?

Also, fans will want to know how having a controller will affect matchmaking, as it’s expected that there will be changes.

It wouldn’t be surprising to learn that COD Mobile gamers using controllers will only be able to play against each other.

WHEN IS CALL OF DUTY MOBILE CONTROLLER COMING TO PHONES?

According to the Call of Duty Mobile team, controller support is being released alongside Zombies Mode.

This is scheduled to happen on November 22 in the United States, and on November 23 in the UK.

Gamers should be able to download the new update at around 5am in the UK and at 9pm the previous day in the United States.

This will all depend on what time zone you live in, as the update is being timed to launch together everywhere.

The latest from the Call of Duty Mobile team reveals: “We are excited to be so close to the release of this massive update, which not only contains the long-awaited zombies mode but a large amount of other content, like new maps, controller support, a new Battle Pass (releases later on November 25th), and more.

“We’ll be sharing many details about all of that tomorrow.”

Another big question fans will have is if they will be able to use controllers in Zombies Mode.

This may all depend on the kind of gameplay available, but there’s no questioning the fact that controller support will make it easier. According to the latest reports, Call of Duty Mobile will contain two different modes, one of which will be called Survival.

Battling waves of the Undead will be part of the gameplay of one of these modes, although Activision has not provided a full announcement yet.

It should also be noted that the launch of the new Zombies mode will be followed with the release of a Double XP weekend.

This will be available on November 23 and 24, during which time Double Weapon XP will make it possible level up your weapons twice as fast.

Unfortunately for gamers hoping to get stuck into the second season of content and grab the Battle Pass, this won’t be available straight away. Activision has confirmed that this will be launching on Monday, November 25, globally.

When it comes to the Battle Pass, it appears that won’t be available to use until next week, on November 25.
