Bucks Gaming Adds Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin as Health Sponsor

  • Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin is the first founding partner for the team.
  • The organization will visit patients and families at various Froedtert locations.
  • Bucks Gaming is the second NBA 2K League team to have a health care sponsor.

Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin has partnered with Bucks Gaming Database-Link-e1521645463907, the NBA 2K Database-Link-e1521645463907 League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, to become the official health network for the team. The deal provides Bucks Gaming with its first “founding partner.” Bucks Gaming told The Esports Observer that its NBA franchise has five founding partners. Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin is one of those partners and the first the sign with the esports sister organization.

In announcing the deal, Bucks Gaming Co-Managing Director Colin Hayes said the team is placing increased importance on its players’ health and wellness. He added that the organization believes “a healthy lifestyle is paramount to achieving peak performance for our team on and off the court.

Players and team representatives will also be going out to visit patients and families at various Froedtert health locations as part of the deal.

“We see this partnership as another way to connect with a younger generation within our community and stress the importance of good health to NBA 2K League fans,” Chris Sadler, director of marketing — advertising and digital communications of Froedtert Health, said in a release. “This expanded partnership with the Bucks continues to reflect the conviction of both organizations that it is our role and responsibility to lead the way toward a strong and healthy future for our city and all involved in the NBA 2K League.”

Bucks Gaming isn’t the first NBA 2K League group to add a health care sponsor. In February, Magic Gaming Database-Link-e1521645463907 signed Orlando Health in a sponsorship and health services deal. The trend is growing among esports teams in general, with player wellness becoming a larger issue as the industry takes cues from traditional sports.
