BTS’s Jin joins UNICEF’s Honours Club after secretly donating 100 million won

BTS star Jin is being recognised by UNICEF for his charitable donations – and we couldn’t stan harder.

The idol has become a member of UNICEF’s Honours Club, having donated over 100 million won (£67,000) to charity.

While Seokjin has actually been a regular donor since last May, his donations have been so impressive that UNICEF has decided to publicly recognise his generosity.

Jin has been keeping his donations secret for the past year, but agreed to announce his membership of the Honours Club as he believes ‘good influence grows if it is shared’.

Our hearts!

Secretary General of UNICEF Korea, Lee Ki Chul, said: ‘We express our gratitude to BTS’s Jin, who has become an inspiration to youth around the world with a message of hope, for his meaningful donations.

‘We hope that his donations will help bring more attention to our work from younger generation.’

Jin isn’t the only member of BTS to support UNICEF, with the Boy With Luv singers working with the organisation since 2017, when they launched the LOVE MYSELF campaign – part of UNICEF’s #EndViolence campaign which hopes to protect young people from violence.

Nearly two years on and BTS are still raising awareness and funds, with UNICEF booths being set up at Wembley Stadium when the group plays their sell-out shows this weekend in London.

Before taking to the 90,000 capacity venue for two nights, the boys swung by the Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday night to perform on the Britain’s Got Talent semi-final, sending the crowd and viewers at home wild with a performance of their hit Boy With Luv.

And Jin was feeling generous again as he gave Dec Donnelly a rose – although we reckon Ant McPartlin was feeling a bit put out.
