K-Pop superstars BTS have announced they are to perform at Twickenham Stadium in 2020.

The boy band – who became the first South Korean group to headline Wembley Stadium in 2018 – announced their Map of the Soul world tour overnight.

Who are BTS? K-pop boy band performing on The Graham Norton Show who sold out the O2

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming tour:

Where are BTS playing?

The band will play two headline shows at London‘s Twickenham Stadium – on 3 and 4 July.

It is not yet known whether the band will play any other dates in the UK; while the majority of the tour’s dates have been announced, a couple on the poster (13 and 14 June) have no cities assigned to them.

Fans will be speculating as to where those shows will be held, and British fans will be crossing their fingers that they’re on these shores.

The tickets to their 2018 UK show sold out in just 90 minutes, prompting them to add a second date, which also sold out in similarly speedy fashion. Could they be preparing for similar demand this year?

The world tour begins in BTS’ home country at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium on 11 April, before they head to America for a string of concerts including Santa Clara, LA, Dallas, Orlando, Atlanta, New Jersey, and Washington DC.

Canada gets a look in too, and BTS will also play several dates in Japan in Fukuoka, Osaka, Saitama and Tokyo.

The seven-piece band are also playing two other European shows, one in Berlin (11 July) and another in Barcelona (17 July).

How do I get tickets?

At the time of writing, details on how to get tickets for the Twickenham dates have not yet been made public.

However, it’s been revealed that for the band’s upcoming US shows, members of the BTS Global ARMY Fanclub will get first access to tickets.

This is pure speculation on our part, but it could be the same case for fans on this side of the pond.

We’ll update this page with ticket details as and when they become available.

Who are BTS?

If you’ve made it this far but are still none the wiser as to who BTS actually are (maybe you have a younger member of the family pestering you for tickets), allow us to fill you in.

The name BTS is an acronym of the South Korean phrase Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to ‘Bulletproof Boy Scouts’.

They have also adopted a new English language definition for it, Beyond The Scene.

The seven members didn’t come together naturally, but were manufactured by Big Hit Entertainment and Universal Music, who they release their music through, in their home country of South Korea.

BTS are from a similar tradition to Psy – who went viral in 2012 with his song Gangnam Style – but they fuse K-pop with R’n’B and hip hop.
