BTS’ Suga battles with fame in epic comeback trailer for Shadow ahead of Map of the Soul: 7 album

BTS have released the comeback trailer for Suga’s new song Shadow adding to the Army’s excitement for the K-pop group’s new album.

Shadow is one of the first singles to be teased ahead of Map of the Soul: 7, which is set to arrive in February.

Suga takes centre stage in the visuals for his solo track, which sees him lying on a floor of neon blue panels, and being chased through a hotel corridor by a group of masked men. He later takes to the stage to perform in front of fans before making his way through the crowd.

Lyrics include: ‘I wanna be a rap star, I wanna be the top. I wanna be a rockstar.

‘I want to be rich, I want to be the king. I wanna go win… I got a big dream, I wondered everyday how far I’d go, I came to my senses and I find myself here.’

It later takes more of a darker turn as Suga raps: ‘I’m afraid, flying high is terrifying, No one told me. How lonely it is up here, I can leap in the air but also plunge, Now I know running away could be an option too.’

Intense.

BTS announced news of their next album via WeVerse, stating: ‘Hello. BTS MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 will be released on Friday, February 21. Pre-orders will begin on Thursday, January 9.

‘We look forward to continued interest and support from all our ARMY.’

It comes 10 months after their 2019 album Map Of The Soul: Persona and six months after the idols took a well-earned extended break following a hectic world tour, which included two nights at the iconic Wembley Stadium.

BTS recently teased that they were hard at work on new music Speaking at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Jimin teased: ‘We’re working on our next album now, and I think we’ll be able to put out an even better album than you’re expecting. Please look forward to it a lot.’

Map of the Soul: 7 is set for release on 21 February.
