BTS member V saw the official video for his solo track Winter Bear make its mark on YouTube following its release on August 9.

The visuals for the singer’s melodic track has racked up over 13.8 million views to date and managed to land in the top 25 of the Global YouTube Music Videos Chart.

This meant V – real name Kim Tae-hyung – outranked any other video by a Korean act between the August 9 – 15 tracking period, according to Headline Planet.

‘This is such a mood song. Today I happen to be in a bit of a contemplative, mellow mood, and suddenly I was craving to listen to this song. It fits perfectly. Thank you Taehyung,’ one viewer wrote.

‘This made me miss those good old days when I was still an innocent child who knows nothing about the world. This song made me feel so nostalgic. I love it so much, Kim Taehyung! Thank you,’ another commented.

Winter Bear’s release comes as BTS’ agency Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that RM, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, Suga, V, and Jin will be taking a period of rest.

‘For the first time since their debut, BTS will be going on an official and extended period of rest and relaxation,’ a statement read.

‘This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentlessly driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators.

‘This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.’

While the boys enjoy their break, the agency also revealed that a new docu-series on the band’s preparation for the Love Yourself tour will air on the K-pop superstar’s official fan community BTS Weverse.

The Bring The Soul docu-series will feature backstage scenes and interviews not seen in the cinematic release Bring The Soul, with Big Hit explaining fans will see ‘interviews sharing their honest thoughts centered around the world tour, the driving force that brought them here, the stage, the members and their fans’.

The series will feature six episodes available to purchase from 27 August, with episodes dropping each Tuesday.
