It’s always a good day when we get new BTS music.
So consider us blessed that we’ve been given J-Hope’s collaboration with Becky G.
Chicken Noodle Soup has dropped and unsurprisingly, the ARMYs are losing it.
The tune throws it back to the days of J-Hope being discovered as an up and coming dancer in the noughties, with a sample of ebstar and Young B’s 2006 track of the same name as the chorus.
Becky G and J-Hope both contributed to writing the lyrics, which are in Korean, English and Spanish, and the MV, directed by Lumpens, features dancers from 50 nationalities.
Talk about going global.
The MV opens with killer choreography from J-Hope, before Becky exits a car to join in.
If you don’t have ‘chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side stuck in your head’, you’re stronger than us.
While we weren’t given much notice that the track was dropping today, BTS and Becky G had been teasing a collaboration for days now.
Becky G took to Twitter to tell her followers: ‘Soooo… #BeckyHasAnotherSecret’ which BTS replied: ‘Hey @iambeckyg, I have a secret, too… #CNS.’
The 22-year-old had teased a potential collab back in June, telling iHeartRadio: ‘We might have a little something-something… we definitely connected.
‘I was freaking out, is this really happening? We’re doing it for the music, we’re just mixing it up. Hopefully when things line up time-wise we will make this happen.’
And in August, the Shower singer posted about Korean snacks in Los Angeles – so it seems Hobi may have brought some treats along from Seoul while recording.
BTS were on their scheduled time off at the time, but J-Hope took a trip to LA for some ‘important business’ – and it seems Chicken Noodle Soup was what was going down.
Sneaky Hobi.
