The seven-piece are putting on a live show called “Bang Bang Con the Live”, and you will be able to watch from the comfort of your own home.
The gig comes after the band were forced to cancel their world tour following the release of their new album, Map of the Soul: 7, in February. They were set to play two sold-out nights at Twickenham Stadium on 3 and 4 July.
The i newsletter cut through the noise
The online concert comes just a week after they performed at the after-party of Barack and Michelle Obama’s YouTube commencement last weekend.
BTS’ last streaming event, Bang Bang Con, which aired at the end of April, featured archive footage from old performances, and still drew in 50 million viewers.
Here is everything you need to know about Bang Bang Con the Live…
When is BTS’ Bang Bang Con the Live on?
The show will air live on 14 June at 10am UK time, which is 6pm in South Korea, where BTS will actually be performing.
It will last for 90 minutes.
How can I watch Bang Bang Con the Live?
The concert will stream on Weverse, which is a Korean app created by entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment. It is available on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store.
The gig is pay-per-view, and to buy a ticket you will have to download the Weverse app. It costs $35 (£27.60) to pre-order a ticket, or $26 (£20.50) if you have a BTS Army membership. Tickets are not limited, so you don’t have to worry about missing out.
Weverse says the concert will provide six multi-view screens “for a more spectacular concert viewing experience” and it will offer subtitles in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese in real time.
Fans can then rewatch the concert at a later date once it receives an official rating.
BTS and the Black Lives Matter protests
The group, which includes Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook, recently donated $1m (£790,000) to the Black Lives Matter movement in conjunction with Big Hit Entertainment, following the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
In a span of 24 hours the BTS Army – the group’s fanbase – matched that donation.
