BTS are no more, it’s SOPE time as J-Hope and Suga take over Twitter

It looks like BTS are rather enjoying April Fools’ Day.

The band have been wreaking havoc with their official Twitter page, with SOPE now taking over.

Sorry, BTS, you had a good run as world’s biggest boyband, but you’ve been replaced.

The hijinks all began when Jin seemingly changed the group’s profile picture to a photo of himself holding a giant prawn as if it were a telephone. As you do.

Jin also changed BTS’s name to an emoji of a blonde boy and a shrimp, and sent out a tweet simply reading: ‘Hello?’

One BTS ARMY, Luke Waltham, replied: ‘BTS? Jin? We only know Seokprawn’ – which we’re fully on board with.

However, during a V Live, J-Hope and Suga realised that Jin had taken over @bts_twt, and decided to have some fun of their own.

The boys snapped a selfie before uploading it as BTS’s profile picture – before changing the band name to SOPE.

SOPE then debuted themselves as a duo, tweeting: ‘The number one of Korea!!!! Singers SOPE’, and wrote in their bio: ‘Contact via DM for event inquiries. We can go anywhere within the country. Get it!’

Hoseok and Yoongi also changed the header picture to literal pictures of their foreheads to add to the ridiculousness.

And ARMYs – or SOPE stans – couldn’t handle the boys’ banter:

People were also freaking out over J-Hope admitting he watches SOPE compilations on YouTube.

Don’t we all?

When the tomfoolery of April Fools’ is over, the boys actually have some work to do, as their new album Map Of The Soul: Persona is out in less than two weeks.

The record will drop on 12 April, followed by a performance by the K-pop kings on Saturday Night Live.

And in anticipation of the album, Big Hit released the first round of concept images, and needless to say, they have piqued our interest.
