Bruno Mars has shared a hilarious post mocking the backlash to the 2021 Grammy nominations after several stars took to social media to complain.

The Uptown Funk star, 35, took to Instagram to share a funny message to those who were upset about missing out on a nomination or an award.

Posting a photo of himself smiling and pointing at the camera, Bruno joked: ‘If you don’t release music, you can’t lose any Grammys#ThinkAboutIt’.

Fans were quick to flood the comments asking him when new music might be on the way, though the singer remained tight-lipped on any updates.

It comes after The Weeknd dubbed the Grammys ‘corrupt’ after he wasn’t nominated, despite having one of the biggest songs of the year, Blinding Lights.

He tweeted: ‘The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency.’

Nicki Minaj had also hit out at the awards, after she wasn’t given the Best New Artist gong in 2012 over Bon Iver, and despite being nominated many times over the years, is still to win one.

She tweeted: ‘Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday’.

Justin Bieber also hit out at his album Changes being up for a Grammy in the pop category rather than R&B.

While he said he was grateful to be up for an award, he added: ‘It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album which is very strange to me.

‘I grew up admiring R&B music and wished to make a project that would embody that sound’, he said on Instagram.

‘For this not to be put into that category feels weird considering from the chords to the melodies to the vocal style all the way down to the hip hop drums that were chosen it is undeniably, unmistakably an R&B album!’

The Grammy Awards 2021 take place on January 31.
