PSG in for Auba

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been approached by Paris Saint-German over a potential move to the Ligue 1 champions as a replacement for outgoing striker Edinson Cavani. Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from the Gunners this season, but it wasn’t thought he would move until the summer.

Under a week remains in the January transfer window, making a move to PSG unlikely, but if Cavani leaves, Aubameyang would become PSG’s top target, according to FootMercato.

They are reporting that Aubameyang’s camp have met with PSG to discuss a potential loan move until the end of the season, with an option to buy.

Cavani, whose contract is up in the summer is eager to leave PSG, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid linked with his signature.

Cavani boost for Utd and Chelsea

Manchester United and Chelsea target Edinson Cavani hasn’t been included in Paris Saint-Germain’s squad against Lille due to the ongoing transfer rumours. Cavani’s future at the Parc des Princes is uncertain with United, the Blues and Atletico Madrid keeping tabs on him.

According to Metro, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed that he has decided not to include the star striker for Sunday’s trip to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy due to all the speculation surrounding him.

Tuchel said: “It’s a little bit the same thing with Edi.

“He has been training with us for the past few days, but the situation is not clear for him either. And for that, he will not be available for tomorrow.”

Eriksen future

Jose Mourinho has spoken about Christian Eriksen’s transfer situation at Tottenham, as the Dane continues to lobby for a move away from north London.

“I don’t want to say anything,” Mourinho told PA Sport.

“I just want to say that this situation shouldn’t happen on the 25th of January.

“And it is not Tottenham’s fault.”

Eriksen has been heavily-linked with a transfer to Inter Milan, who are thought to have offered £10m for the midfielder’s signature this month.

Gareth Bale to Man Utd or Tottenham backed

Gareth Bale has been advised by Dimitar Berbatov not to rule out a move to Manchester United or Tottenham if he leaves Real Madrid.

Dimitar Berbatov told Betfair: “Gareth Bale managed to get on the score sheet in midweek for Real Madrid, but it was sad to see him come off injured, you want to see players like that play all the time.

“But then, I’m surprised that when you play at this high level, for Real Madrid, and you have so many injuries throughout your career and you can’t seem to get rid of them – what is going on?

“I’m sure Real Madrid have a great medical department, but the player needs to know their body and if needs be they should train a different way.

“To see those injuries keep coming up, something isn’t right. I’m sure Bale is frustrated as well because as a player you don’t want to miss games or training, even if you play badly.

“I love watching Bale when he plays, I want him to stay fit and healthy, if he wants to stay at Real Madrid I’d like him to stay, but if he wants to go, I’d like to see him go back to Spurs or go to Man United. In the end it’s all down to him, obviously he likes it there.”

Mino Raiola on Paul Pogba leaving Man Utd

Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has once again hinted his client could be on his way out of Manchester United.

“Juventus fans should dream, like those around the world, because if you don’t dream you’re dead,” Raiola said when asked about the possibility of his client moving.

“I don’t work in dreams, but I try to make the right choices at the right time with my players to advance their career.

“Now to say that Pogba leaves Manchester United to go to Juventus to Real or Barcelona is not the right time “

Bruno Fernandes to Man Utd update

Bruno Fernandes’ move to Manchester United is waiting “to be done” if the Red Devils can agree a fee with Sporting Lisbon, says Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

“There are very different things coming out of Lisbon and in England,” Sheth said on the Transfer Talk podcast.

“The information from there now is that the move to Manchester United looks as far away as it’s ever been and it’s a £10m difference between what United are offering and Sporting Lisbon’s valuation.

“All along, reports in Portugal had been how close this deal was to getting done.

“Let’s look at the United side now because it’s been very, very quiet.

“That’s the one consistent thing, it’s been very quiet throughout the whole of these negotiations.

“But now, in contrast to what’s coming out of Lisbon, we’re told from that end that there is a deal there still to be done and all avenues of communication remain open, despite reports to the contrary coming out of Lisbon saying talks have now stalled.

“Let’s make no mistake about this – United want Bruno Fernandes, Bruno Fernandes wants Manchester United. Still, of course, no agreement.

“The feeling that United are getting is that Sporting Lisbon are using the media to put pressure on them to get a deal over the line.”

Pablo Mari to Arsenal update

Arsenal target Pablo Mari has arrived at Heathrow Airport ahead of completing a move to the Emirates this month and is excited to be joining the north London club.

Reports emerged late on Friday that Mari had agreed a switch to Arsenal from Brazilian side Flamengo. And now the centre-back has landed in London ahead of his medical, which is set to take place this weekend.

Mari arrived at Heathrow with Arsenal technical director Edu, who flew with him from Rio de Janeiro.

When asked if he was excited to be joining Arsenal, Mari told Goal: “Yeah of course”.

Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool claim

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho said Kylian Mbappe would “improve” the league leaders but provide a selection “headache” for Jurgen Klopp.

“At this moment it would be a headache for Liverpool if we had him here because our attacking trio is very good,” Fabinho told SPORTbible.

“But I know Mbappe’s quality, he’s already one of the best players in the world, so he would obviously improve any team.

“Right now he plays for Paris Saint-Germain and we have to respect that.”

Edinson Cavani to Chelsea backed… on one condition

Edinson Cavani would be a good signing for Chelsea but only if they do not overpay for the Paris Saint-Germain striker, claims European football expert Gabriele Marcotti.

“In the case of Chelsea, it might make sense as a short-term ‘help Tammy Abraham along’,” Marcotti told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“If you think about body type right, there are similarities, especially if you think back to young Cavani.

“You’ve got a tall, mobile, athletic striker. He turns 33 years old on Valentine’s Day, that’s the reality of it.

“So you’re kind of mad to give him anything more, in my opinion, than two-and-a-half years, max.

“Paris Saint-Germain say that they’re holding out for, what is it, €12m-€15m, €20m that they want.

“It seems like a ton of money given that he’s going to walk on a free at the end of the season.

“So it’s kind of like a game of chicken going on there. He was going to go to Atletico Madrid, as we know Atletico Madrid have serious issues obviously with the salary cap in La Liga, they have to move other players out.

“I don’t think he’d be a bad option for Chelsea.

“I think Cavani might fit that bill there but it all comes down to how much money we’re going to be talking here, and can they shift Giroud of course.”
