Bruno Fernandes to make transfer decision after Barcelona rival Man Utd with accepted bid

Bruno Fernandes’ future looks set to finally be resolved in the near future after bids from both Manchester United and Barcelona were accepted by his club Sporting Lisbon.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Portuguese side since the summer, with United chasing the player ever since his superb performances in the Primeira Liga last season, in which he scored 20 goals in 33 games for his side.

A bid from United of £46.6m plus add-ons was accepted by Sporting this evening, but Barcelona are also said to have agreed a deal according to Sky Sports , meaning it will be down to the player to decide which club he would prefer to join.

It appears Bruno Fernandes will have to decide between Manchester United or Barcelona

If he is to go to Barcelona it has been reported that he will be loaned to Valencia for the rest of the season, and it remains to be seen whether that has an influence in Fernandes’ final choice.

It has also been claimed that Barcelona have offered a slightly bigger fee than the one on the table from Old Trafford, but a significant part of the Nou Camp figure would not be paid until the summer.

With the transfer window slamming shut on Friday, Fernandes will have to make a decision in the next three days, and it may be a nervous time for United supporters, who will be desperate for the Portuguese international to choose them over Barcelona.

Fernandes has been in superb form again this season, scoring eight goals and creating seven assists in the Primeira Liga, while he also regularly appears for his national side, having won 19 caps.

Speaking recently about the rumours on Fernandes ahead of their Carabao Cup second leg against rivals Manchester City, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave a cagey answer to reporters.

The Norwegian boss said: “You’re wasting it. So don’t ask it.

“I haven’t got any updates for you on transfers. I think it was a waste (of a question). I gave you the option.

I haven’t got anything to say now, my mind is on the game.”
