Bruce Springsteen made Official Chart history after scoring his 12th number one album.

The Hungry Heart singer’s record Letter To You has become the fastest-selling album of this year.

The Boss had 95% of his 51,800 chart sales from physical and download sales.

His entry means he is the first credited solo artist to have a number one album in five consecutive decades, topping the charts in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s.

With all those chart-topping albums, Bruce is now tied with Madonna and legends deserve to be with legends.

However, Lady Gaga’s amazing Chromatica keeps the throne for biggest opening week this year.

Bruce might have a top-tier album, but he won’t be able to enjoy it with fans in quite the same way while live gigs are still paused.

He recently discussed how he was feeling the effects of the coronavirus pandemic first-hand as he described the heartbreak of missing his fans and performing live.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Bruce said his latest effort is meant for packed concert venues.

He said: ‘This is great material to play live. It’s very painful to not be able to go out and play right now, because this is material that’ll play incredible on stage.

‘I wanted to go back to a style probably closest, you’d have to go back to maybe Born To Run, where I gave Roy [Bittan, pianist] free rein on the piano and… the songs fit those kinds of arrangements.

‘And so it was a lovely, modern revisitation of that style.’
