Last week, the latest countries to be added to the quarantine list were Denmark, Iceland and Slovakia, as well as the island of Curacao.

Liechtenstein, while still on the UK’s air corridor list, is no longer allowing Brits in within quarantining for ten days.

Now, Brits can only travel without any restrictions or quarantines to the following countries, all of which are in Europe bar one:

  • Germany
  • Gibraltar
  • Greece
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • San Marino
  • Sweden
  • Turkey

Some of these countries are not as straightforward to enter as it may seem either.

For Greece, you can only visit the mainland or some of the islands such as Rhodes, Kos or Corfu without quarantining, and you need to fill in a free Passenger Locator Form before entering.

Quarantine restrictions are in place if heading to the islands of Zante, Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Lesvos, Tinos and Serifos if returning to England, as well as Paros and Antiparos if returning to Wales.

Scotland has enforced quarantine restrictions for all of Greece.

San Marino is located within Italy and does not have an airport – if Italy is removed from the air bridge list, it will not be possible to visit San Marino.

Other countries popular with Brits include Cyprus which, while open to Brits, requires a negative coronavirus test which cannot be done on the NHS, and can cost upwards of £100.

  • Cyprus
  • Madeira
  • Azores
  • Estonia

Dubai and the Maldives also require negative PCR tests, but are not on the UK’s air corridor list.

Some families have also had problems getting the results in time, with them needed up to 72 hours before travelling.

Madeira and the Azores, the Portuguese islands also open to Brits, require negative coronavirus tests as well.

Spain, France, Malta and Croatia have been off the list for Brits to go on holiday, with each country removed from the air corridor list.

Parts of the UK may be off limits for holidays too soon – Scotland has stopped household visits, while England and Wales have rules of six people for staycations.

This may also be stopped unless the country’s coronavirus situation improves.

Nicola Sturgeon begged Scots not to book an overseas holiday in case of a nationwide shutdown.

She said yesterday: “Please think of the October break as an opportunity to further limit social interaction. And, given that this is a global pandemic, please do not book travel overseas for the October break if it is not essential.”

Here is the full list of countries where you may have to have a negative coronavirus test, buy you won’t be forced to quarantine.

If you fancy a UK staycation, you may have to be quick – some campsites and cottages are selling out for summer 2021 already.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps says ‘there are more risks than usual’ for people considering booking holidays abroad
