Brits are having less sex and NETFLIX is to blame, research says

We’ve long been using ’Netflix and chill’ as a euphemism for sex.

But it turns out, for a lot of us, that really is all we’re getting up to.

Yes, new research suggests British people are having less sex than they used to,

Fewer than HALF of Britons report having sex at least once a week, and, according to the study, rates are declining.

Researchers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine analysed data for more than 34,000 men and women between the ages of 16 and 44, who completed the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles in 1991, 2001, and 2012.

They found a gradual decline in sexual activity in Britain.

And by the most recent survey, 29% of women and 29.2% of men reported having no sex at all in the past month.

But it’s not known whether the decline is due to everyone losing their mojo or something deeper.

According to the study’s authors, the downturn in getting frisky is because many of us now spend too much time on Facebook, smartphones and binge watching the latest Netflix box set.

Lead researcher Kaye Wellings said they are all “likely distractions that may prevent intimacy”.

But the streaming giant were eager to distance themselves from everyone’s dwindling libidos.

A Netflix spokesperson told The Sun: “We take pride in being part of the cultural zeitgeist, but getting credit for a decades long decline in sex is beyond even our programming abilities.”
