LYING Brits have admitted to pretending to be ill or even assuming someone else’s identity to get a free upgrade or better holiday deal.
New research has also revealed that the most common lie is a birthday or anniversary.
According to app Upgrade Pack, 40 per cent of Brits admit they would pretend they were celebrating to get a free upgrade.
Another 20 per cent have flirted while ten per cent pretended they were sick.
Shockingly, five per cent admitted to have pretended they were someone else, while another five per cent said they were recently divorced.
The research found, perhaps unsurprisingly, many wanted an upgrade or a better holiday deal if they could get it for free.
The biggest “blaggers” were found to be earners over £40,000, with Mancunians the worst after one in three admitted to lying to get what they want.
However, Craig Unsworth, founder and CEO of Upgrade Pack said upgrades are “rarely guaranteed.”
