BRITs 2020: Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood leave fans overjoyed as The Faces reunite


The BRITs 2020 brought back a lot of nostalgia for some viewers, who were left ecstatic to see the three remaining members of rock band The Faces regroup to sign off Tuesday evening’s show. Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney jones took to the stage at the end of the night following a solo performance from Rod, to end the show with a bang, and fans were loving it.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the BRIT Awards, and to mark the occasion, the rock and roll band came together to give the audience a taste of the old days.

A night to celebrate all things music was chock full of incredible performances, with the likes of Harry Styles, Stormzy and Billie Eilish showing off their impressive vocals.

But the closing ceremony took centre stage for some viewers, who took to Twitter to applaud the trio, who performed 

One retorted: “Thank f**k for Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood bringing a bit of actual upbeat rock ’n’ roll to the #brits2020 after all the maudlin whinging and wailing from the millennials!”

Earlier in the evening, former Rolling Stones bandmate Ronnie had presented an award and was branded a scarecrow by host comedian Jack Whitehall.

Last night also saw Scottish heart-throb Lewis Capaldi take home the most awards of the night, picking up Best New Artist and Song of the Year for Someone You Loved.

South London rapper Dave, also won big, winning the top prize of Album of the Year for his emotionally fraught album, Psychodrama.

Stormzy was named Best British male, following a triumphant year in which he topped the UK singles chart three times, began a five-continent world tour, and played a headline set at Glastonbury that is already regarded as one of the greatest in the festival’s 50-year history.

Billie Eilish took home Best International Female Solo Artist and Mabel was the only British woman to be shortlisted across 25 slots in the mixed British categories of best song, album, group and new artist.
