Britney Spears discusses what she will do post-conservatorship

Britney Spears has announced that she has finished shooting a new movie after she successfully appealed to end her conservatorship.

The pop sensation, 39, took to Instagram to tell her 36.8 million followers the exciting news and joked that she’ll be drinking with a cat if she goes quiet “from time to time”.

She wrote alongside the image of the feline propped up with a glass of wine: ” I just shot a movie titled “THE IDOL“ …”

And in a subtle dig to her family she continued: “I t’s guaranteed to have hits and a lot bright pics to put in my beautiful family’s faces !!!!!

“I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am !!!! If I go quiet from time to time, you can catch me with this cat somewhere”

Fans quickly commented on the post with messages of support.

One user wrote: “Slay them allllll,” while another penned: “This is literally the best thing ever.”

Others questioned whether it was the drama series by The Weeknd of the same name that has been ordered by HBO.

The series focuses on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.

One fan said: “Hmmmm the weeknd??”

Another picked up the similiarities too, saying: “The movie the weeknd is doing????,” alongside love heart-eyed emojis.

The Toxic singer recently won the legal battle to rid herself of her father’s control and the conservatorship that controlled her life for the past 13 years.

While she had previously hinted that she was retiring from music, it seems as though the court case win may have changed her mind.

The star is said to be in touch with Bobby Campbell – the music manager who has worked with 35-year-old Gaga since 2014 – as she plans to record new music and hit the road.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “She has a lot of respect for the working relationship Bobby has with Lady Gaga.

“Britney thinks they might make a good team. It is early days but she feels there is potential.

“The ideas being discussed include a greatest hits album with new bonus tracks, and live dates which are being seen as her farewell tour.”
