Britney Spears has returned to Instagram after taking time off social media platforms following the exciting announcement of her engagement to long term boyfriend Sam Asghari.
The Toxic singer admitted she couldn’t stay away from the social media platform for long and has shared shots from her trip away with her new fiancé – but her photos have left fans wondering if she is really in control of her account.
Britney, 39, revealed she had been to Palm Springs and posted two selfies from her getaway alongside the caption: “Some shots from my weekend getaway to celebrate my engagement with my … holy s*** … FIANCÉ … I still can’t believe it!!!!
“I couldn’t stay away from the gram too long so I’m back already !!!! Psss I took these in Palm Springs with clip in extensions.”
The two images show the singer posing outdoors in a white peasant top. One of the photos has been filtered in black and white.
Fans noticed that the photos in question looked eerily similar to others Britney posted much earlier this year.

Fans also noticed that when the pop sensation announced her engagement, she had much shorter hair with streaks of red running through which are nowhere to be seen in latest update.
She didn’t share any snaps with her man, and some fans were dubious about her return and began asking questions.
While some rejoiced at her being back, others shared their doubt that it was really her.
One fan wrote: “It doesn’t even seem like it’s her speaking on the “gram”. I don’t know but she better have a prenuptial ready , something doesn’t seem right at all. Anyone else notice it doesn’t seem like her speaking on here?”
Another commented: “Hmmm something seems off.”
And a third said: “But britney you have shorter red hair now so how could these be from your engagement getaway?”
Although partner Sam didn’t appear in the post, he did like it.
She went on to share another dancing video, although she made it clear it was shot in July.

She captioned the clip of her twirling in a red crop top: “This was shot in July !!!! Remember Bad Guy ???? Well this is part 3 …. no … not same dance !!! Different moves.”
But yet again fans took to the comments section to cast doubt on whether Britney was in control of the platform.
One demanded: “We want a video of Britney saying she’s okay with today’s newspaper.”
Her return comes less than a week after she quit the platform and had fans fearing for her wellbeing.
However, the singer took to her Twitter account at the time to insist she was fine.
She told her loyal fans that she was just taking a short break to celebrate her recent engagement.
Her lawyer Mathew Rosengart also confirmed to Page Six that it was Britney’s decision to take a social media break.
