Britney Spears has hailed her ex Justin Timberlake as a “genius” despite admitting they had “one of the world’s biggest breakups.”
The 38-year-old singer showed there was no bad blood with her former lover by busting out some moves to his song ‘Filthy’ and being generous with her praise on Instagram.
The former pop princess continued her trend of posting dancing videos on Instagram on Wednesday and this time she turned to Timberlake, who she split from in 2002.
Captioning the video, Britney wrote: “This is my version of Snapchat or TikTok or whatever the cool thing you’re supposed to do these days !!!!! As you can see I’m not really dancing folks …… I’m just very bored.”

Britney then added a tribute to her former boyfriend, writing: “PS I know we had one of the world’s biggest breakups 20 years ago …… but hey the man is a genius !!!! Great song JT !!!! Pssss if you KNOW WHAT’S GOOD.”
The Toxic singer was certainly right about it being one of the biggest showbiz breakups when it happened after they dated for three years.
Britney and Justin were Hollywood’s ‘it-couple’ from the moment they hooked up in 1998.
They had met on Mickey Mouse Club as children and were hailed as the ‘perfect’ couple when their relationship turned romantic.
When it all fell apart though, it was as devastating as their coupling was celebrated.
Justin Timberlake reportedly wrote ‘Cry Me a River’ about their split and Britney’s alleged relationship with her backup dancer and choreographer Wade Robson.
After Britney’s comments, all eyes have been on waiting to see if Timberlake replies to her generous comments.
One fan replied, writing: “omg waiting for JT to reply.”
While another added: “This gave me goosebumps, JT and Brit giving me simpler 2000 vibes again!”
With more than 40k likes in just a few minutes, it shows there is still a lot of love for Britney and Justin and what they had together.
