BRITISH Airways have revealed their new Club World seats, which will offer every business class passenger their own private pod.
The new seats, known as the ‘Club Suite’, will also offer each passenger direct access to the aisle thanks to a new 1-2-1 format.
Passengers previously had to climb over another traveller’s bed to get out, with the new seats designed to remove this annoyance.
Alex Cruz, British Airways’ Chairman and CEO, said: “Each new suite has direct aisle access and comes with a personal door – design features which were incorporated as a direct result of the feedback we’ve had from our customers.”
The seats will be introduced on the new Airbus A350 planes joining the fleet this July.
Each new pods will also include a vanity unit with mirrors, WiFi, 18.5 inch entertainment screens and charging points.
Initially, the new business class seats will only be available on short haul flights between London and Madrid while cabin crew familiarise themselves with the new layout.
From October, they will be rolled out on some long haul flights, with the third phase in 2020, which will see more Club Suite seats on flights.
Rob Burgess, editor of the frequent flyer website headforpoints.com praised the new designs as”virtually all of the problems with the old seat have gone”.
However, he also said he was concerned passengers would have to wait “four years to see it across the fleet.”
Other new changes include the new amenity kits and quilts in the World Travel Plus seats.
Some of the best first class cabins in the world boast seven-course tasting menus, showers and even private minibars.
