Last month, 22,000 members of British Airways staff were put on furlough.
Nigel Frith, a senior market analyst at www.asktraders.com: “COVID:19 has proved to us all that nobody is safe.
“With IAG announcing that British Airways will be making cuts, that could mean 12,000 employees will be left without a job.
“Even though 22,000 of them were furloughed, this really is a really worrying and unpredictable time for the aviation industry.”
The announcement of possible redundancies could cause uncertainty for staff, an expert claimed.
