British Airways to cut up to 12,000 jobs including cabin crew as coronavirus crisis hits


Last month, 22,000 members of British Airways staff were put on furlough.

Nigel Frith, a senior market analyst at www.asktraders.com: “COVID:19 has proved to us all that nobody is safe.

“With IAG announcing that British Airways will be making cuts, that could mean 12,000 employees will be left without a job.

“Even though 22,000 of them were furloughed, this really is a really worrying and unpredictable time for the aviation industry.”

The announcement of possible redundancies could cause uncertainty for staff, an expert claimed.
