Amanda Holden has opened up about the heartbreak of losing her son Theo.

The 48-year-old and her husband Chris Hughes, who share daughters Hollie and Lexie, went through a tragic ordeal in February 2011, after their son was sadly stillborn at seven months.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge said that the strength of her family has helped her cope with the heartbreak.

And she explained that she has been spending the last seven years processing her sorrow in her autobiography No Holding Back.

Speaking to You Magazine, she revealed that feelings of grief are ‘always there’ explaining: ‘Theo will always be part of our family.

‘He would have been a year older than Hollie. I often look at the children in the year above her and think, “Oh yes, today Theo would have been doing this”.

‘It’s not something to get over, but I’ve got my head round it, and I’ve got my amazing hubby, and our love for each other and our family got us through.’

The Heart FM radio presenter previously took part in a half-marathon in support of Theo’s Hope, a charity that she set up to find bereavement counsellors at Tommy’s Stillbirth Research Centre at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester.

She had miscarried a son at 16 weeks in 2010 and was seven months pregnant with Theo when a scan revealed his heart had stopped.

Amanda’s sombre words come as she made headlines for her outfit choices on Britain’s Got Talent.

The TV presenter is no stranger to going viral after racking up a number of Ofcom complaints about her accidental swear word on BGT – and more recently for her show-stopping revealing dress on the semi-finals of the talent show.

Amanda’s choice of dress on the hit variety program two years ago also struck a chord with 663 outraged viewers, who wrote to the TV regulator about her plunging Julian Macdonald dress.

But complaints are the new form of flattery for the mother-of-two who loves the fact that her boobs are still a hot topic of conversation.

Speaking to the Mail Online, she said: ‘I love it that people are still talking about my tired old breasts and I’m nearly 50!

‘No one talks about [BGT co-host] Alesha Dixon’s – she’s got great boobs, by the way – and she’s eight years younger than me.’

For the third semi finals of BGT, Amanda wore a daring Nicholas Jebran dress with a nude embroidered lace detail on one side, which garnered mixed reviews from viewers online.

Amanda also opened up about the death of her beloved grandmother Ethel, who died at the age of 97, and how her grandmother’s strength is a characteristic that all women in her family share.

Together, their life mantra is: ‘Speak up, speak out and be strong.’

She said: ‘She was my biggest inspiration.

‘She went to hell and back, but she’s carried on like nothing happened’
