The first round of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions didn’t end well for the home turf, with no acts from BGT making it through to the final.

In the first show of the series, BGT acts Paul Potts, Boogie Storm, Connie Talbot, and Ashley and Sully, went up against a number of international acts from the ‘From Talent’ series overseas.

Despite their best efforts, all four acts failed to make it through to the final – being pipped by Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer act Kseniya Simonova, who won Ukraine’s Got Talent, and comic daredevils Bello and Annaliese Nock from America’s Got Talent.

Other knocked out acts include The Nelson Twins from Australia, Bad Salsa from India’s Got Talent, and The Sacred Riana from Asia’s Got Talent.

There’s still hope for Britain yet in future shows, with the likes of Stavros Flatley, Jai McDowall, Collabro, Lost Voice Guy and more set to compete.

Elsewhere in the show, Ashleigh Butler returned with new dog Sully following the death of her pooch Pudsey who helped her originally bag the £250,000 cash prize in 2012.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions is set to run for six weeks, with the final expected to take place on 5 October.
