Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Simon Cowell stunned as contestants unveil major shake-up

Simon Cowell, 59, will be joined by David Walliams, 48, Amanda Holden, 48, and Alesha Dixon, 40, as for the first time Britain’s Got Talent airs twice this year.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions will see the cream of the crop of the franchise take to the stage to battle it out for ultimate victory.

As well as the most favourable acts from the ITV talent show, contestants from across the globe will also partake in the international competition.

The show returns this weekend and ahead of the first episode, it has been revealed Simon will be stunned when he believes one of the acts features his son, Eric Cowell.

Boogie Storm first took to the Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2016, with Simon giving them a place in the live shows by pressing his Golden Buzzer.

The dance troupe will once again take to the stage to perform an energetic routine to the backing track of a mash-up of iconic songs, all in their Star Wars get up.

Performing at the Wembley SSE, Boogie Storm will once again blow away the judges but at the end of their routine, a mini storm trooper will emerge behind the panel.

Having not been in the original routine three years ago, the contestants give their act a shake-up with the miniature addition but Simon will believe he knows the performer.

According to reports from Metro.co.uk, the music mogul asks the performer: “You’re not Eric, are you?”

Although the contestant isn’t his son, Simon still goes on to commend the troupe, telling them; “You’re my favourite act of the night.”

The judge continues: “You’re bloody brill! I’m actually quite emotional,” having not seen them perform since 2016.

David was convinced the contestant was someone who has a closer association with the show, believing hosts Ant McPartlin, 43, and Dec Donnelly, 43, are up to their old tricks.

“I thought it was Dec!” David told The Sun.

“But I think it is one of those acts that is so simple, you think how come no-one else thought of this?” the judge continued.

Boogie Storm are just one of the acts featuring in the first show, with the talent programme’s first ever winner Paul Potts, 48, also taking to the stage.

Ukrainian sand animator Kseniya Simonova will also take to the stage, with father-daughter duo Bello and Annaliese Nock from the US also appearing in the line-up.

There will be many more favourites from the Got Talent taking to the stage as signing sensation Susan Boyle, 58, won’t be making an appearance in The Champions series.

Speaking on ITV chat show Lorraine yesterday, Simon admitted he knew Susan wouldn’t be performing in this series.

However, the judge added: “I hope if this does well, we’ll do it again next year.

“Then it becomes an annual event. So you’ve got to save some people back [for the next show].”

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions begins Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
