‘Lewis Capaldi is going to clean up’

Bathgate performer Capaldi, who is set to perform at the ceremony, is favourite in all four categories that he is nominated in.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes has backed the artist to claim all four awards  while lending support to Mabel and Billie Eilish.

She said: “It looks like Capaldi is going to clean up at the Brits this year, while Mabel and Billie Eilish are the most likely female winners in a male-dominated line-up of nominees.”

In the Album of the Year category, Capaldi faces arguably his stiffest competition in the form of Dave.  His debut studio album Psychodrama earned wide acclaim and picked up the Mercury Prize in 2019. Fellow grime artist Stormzy will be looking to add to his 2018 success – his debut album Gang Signs and Prayer won in the category and his second effort Heavy Is The Head is listed at 5/1 to triumph.

One artist guaranteed to win on the night is 25-year-old singer Celeste who was already named as the victor in the Rising Star Award category. Fred Again meanwhile claimed victory in the British Producer of the Year category.
