Bride-to-be's heartless explanation for banning groom's kids from wedding party

Weddings are an important time to bring together family – after all, it is an occasion where two different households are joined in holy union.

But one bride-to-be isn’t all that keen on including all of her future husband’s family in the big day, in particular she doesn’t want to involve his children in any meaningful way.

The unnamed woman shared a shocking post in a wedding group on Facebook asking for advice on her situation, according to The Sun.

In the post, the bride, who lives in America, asks how she can tell her step children that they aren’t going to be involved in the upcoming wedding.

She shared the post on a Facebook group

She writes: “How would you explain to your (future) step child that they won’t be in your wedding?

“I have four children of my own and my fiancé has two kids with his ex.

“It’s very important to me for my kids to be in my wedding. My ex (kids’ father) died when they were very young and I spent a lot of time depressed and refusing to get out of bed. It was really that bad.

“My fiancé was married to his ex and his kids were in their wedding so I feel like they’ve already gotten the ‘experience’.”

Heartlessly the woman goes on to clarify that while she doesn’t want her partner’s children to be in the wedding party, she does expect them to help set up the reception hall and serve food to the other guests.

Graciously she is also planning to give his children “honorary seats” in the first few rows during the ceremony and she’ll let them appear in “some of the pictures”.

But perhaps the worst part of her post comes at the end, when she complains that she couldn’t have the lavish wedding she really wanted, because her fiancé has to pay around £1,200 a month to his ex in child support.

She adds: “I have let a lot of things I wanted go. So I feel justified in having what I CAN have my way.”

People were not impressed by her post

Hundreds of people have replied to her post, with many taken aback by her words and condemning her behaviour.

One person commented: “She seems delightful. Lucky guy.”

Another simply wrote: “YIKES.”

A third added that not including the other children was her way of “punishing” them for the child support.

Someone else branded her a “gross, sad human being”
