Bride has Walking Dead themed wedding – complete with zombie chasing her down the aisle

Amanda Bleker and Terry Bleker tied the knot on the show’s 10-year anniversary, with the ceremony being held in the fictional town which appeared in the show’s third season. The big day featured someone dressed as a zombie which followed them down the aisle – before being killed by a Rick Grimes impersonator.

Mr Bleker, who serves in the US military, is not a big fan of the show – but Ms Bleker said it was her “dream wedding” and had to be the theme.

The 35-year-old bride from Dadeville, Alabama said: “Neither of us wanted a traditional white wedding, so we said ‘screw tradition’ and ditched the church bells.

“I’ve been the hugest fan of The Walking Dead since it came out in 2010 so it was perfect for me.”

Ms Bleker explained that inspiration for the big day came from numerous places, with the final result always managing to shock the people she tells about it.

She added: ”I took inspiration from other people, but we wanted the wedding to be unique so we really tried to make it our own.

“Everything went absolutely perfectly, and the highlight was being chased by a zombie before Rick Grimes stepped in.

“I love people’s reactions when I tell them I had a The Walking Dead wedding – their jaws drop every time!”

The couple began dating in 2016 and for their one-year anniversary, Ms Bleker was taken to see the season eight premier of the show.

He said: “I was thrilled when Amanda and Terry asked me to be a part of their wedding.

“I’ve been attending The Walking Dead conventions for several years since people started pointing out my likeness to Rick, but a wedding is always special.”

Ms Bleker acknowledged that the wedding theme is “not for everyone” but that it was her “dream” nonetheless – even taking place on the show’s 10-year anniversary on October 31, 2020.

She added: “I think I came up with the idea of us being chased down the train tracks – it worked out so well, but I was trying not to giggle while we were walking down.

“It’s not for everyone, but the wedding turned out exactly how I wanted and I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

“It was my dream wedding!”
