Brian McFadden found himself being challenged to a fight by Irish actor John Connors as they publicly locked horns on Twitter.

John took aim at the former Westlife star after noticing Brian had criticised the Oscars and Bong Joon-ho’s winning movie Parasite.

Brian shared a tweet from Variety that revealed Donald Trump‘s criticism of the Academy Awards, with the US president reportedly saying: ‘How bad were the Academy Awards this year? Did you see it? The winner is… a movie from South Korea. What the hell was that all about?’

Brian added: ‘We were all thinking the same,’ and soon felt the wrath of Love/Hate star John because of it.

John hit back: ‘F**k the awards they’re sh*te but parasite was f**king masterpiece! Brian, you don’t know good music never mind films. Stick to the dodgy harmonies.’

Cue the insults being hurled left, right and centre and fans furiously scrolling while holding onto their popcorn.

Brian came back with: ‘I’ve been making music and touring for over 21 years. You played yourself in love hate and think you’re [Russell] Crowe.’

That only prompted round two from John, who said: ‘Brian. Your “Music” is a stain on Irish culture. You should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. Westlife dumped you and you can’t get over it.’

Brian praised John for his comeback (all with a hint of sarcasm), telling him he was ‘very creative’ and firing off yet another tweet, John wrote: ‘Why thank you. That’s what I do. Create. You destroy… Art. Lives. Ear drums.’

A fan then suggested that the only way for the men to settle their dispute was to fight it out in the ring and, at that, John started his petition to take down Brian in a real-life boxing match. All for charity of course.

‘@BrianMcFadden would never get in the ring with me for charity. I’d end his miserable existence. I’d be jailed,’ John tweeted.

Then, trying to persuade Brian to sign up, John added: ‘It’s for charity @BrianMcFadden. Don’t worry I don’t float like a butterfly or sting like a bee but I’ll gladly knockout a back up singer from glee!’

Fans will recognise John for his role as Patrick Ward in Irish drama Love/Hate and 2017 movie Cardboard Gangsters.

And his spat with Brian isn’t the only time Brian’s been seen getting vocal on Twitter recently, as the singer was recently seen mocking Eminem and his ‘gangster pose’ while comparing him to Screech from Saved By The Bell.

Brian tweeted: ‘I love Eminem as an artist. He’s a genius. But why does he always make that I’m hard as nails gansta don’t f**k with me face?

‘He’s really just screech from Saved By The Bell with a chain around his neck.’

Slim Shady ain’t gonna like that.
