Brendan Rodgers non-committal on Harry Maguire to Man Utd transfer cut-off point

Harry Maguire completed 90 minutes as Leicester City beat Stoke 2-1 on Saturday, with Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers remaining calm over the defender’s future.

England international Maguire continues to be eyed by both Manchester United and Manchester City .

But neither side have come close to meeting Leicester ’s valuation of the ex-Hull City centre-back.

Leicester received two bids for Maguire earlier this summer, but after those were rejected, follow up offers have not been forthcoming.

Maguire continues to be linked with a switch to Manchester, as the clock ticks down on the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old has taken part in four pre-season matches for the Foxes, and Rodgers says they are “relaxed’ over the situation.

“He’s been brilliant since the first day of pre-season,” said Rodgers.

“There’s a lot of speculation around Harry but he’s just got on with it. Like I’ve always said, we’re all pretty relaxed with it.

“We’re looking to prepare the whole team and squad and Harry’s a part of that. He was excellent today, he’s working very hard.

“There’s no discussion. I know you guys are looking for updates but there’s no change from the other night.”

Asked what would happen if an acceptable bid was forthcoming, Rodgers added: “It’s all about ifs, but we haven’t had that.”

And when pushed on a potential cut-off date – having previously spoken about a potential point in time when all bids would be rejected as the Foxes would be unable to land a replacement – Rodgers admitted: “I haven’t really thought about that.
