Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Jamie Vardy will undergo surgery to fix a hernia injury.
The Foxes are flying high in the Premier League having won their last three games and they currently sit third in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Manchester United.
Vardy, meanwhile, has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season but the 34-year-old has found the back of the net only once in his last seven appearances.
And Rodgers has now confirmed that the striker will be sidelined for Leicester’s upcoming run of games due to a hernia problem which has required surgery to fix.
‘Jamie Vardy will be out for a few weeks,’ said Rodgers.
‘As you know, we’ve been managing him over this last number of months, and he’s been absolutely fantastic.
‘We have a window now that allows him to have a minor operation on his hernia and then he’ll be back within a few weeks. He’ll be out for that period.
‘It’s one that doesn’t keep him out for too long, but it’s just a repair in and round that hernia area.
