Northern Arizona continues to get love from celebrities, the latest being Miley Cyrus.
The singer recently has been posting tons of shots from a trip to Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon, as well as from Utah’s Zion National Park. Cyrus was accompanied by her mom, Tish Cyrus, and her sister Brandi.
Photos also show what appears to be a lengthy kayak tour of Lake Powell, where Cyrus’ dog Beanie is along for the ride.
The trip comes after a much-publicized breakup with husband Liam Hemsworth in August after less than a year of marriage. So nothing like beautiful desert scenery to cope with the devastation. And those abs Cyrus flaunts in many photos suggest the healing is coming along just fine.
But the trip is not without some gentle poking from Mom.
On her Instagram Story Thursday, Cyrus said Tish gave her heck for sitting inside on her phone during a “gorgeous sunset.”
“It’s hard to get in trouble once you’re an adult,” Cyrus wrote, “but she said I looked like a ‘bratty millennial’ which I do …. but is it bad if I like the pic and wanna post? Is that worst?”
While Sedona has always been popular with celebrities, other northern Arizona locales are also getting their due.
In July, Beyoncé dropped into the Grand Canyon to film a “Lion King” video at the base of Havasu Falls. In June, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian spent a weekend in Flagstaff.
And that’s not counting the celebrities who may drop in from Hollywood without posting on social media, if anyone does that anymore.
