Brad Pitt compares Harvey Weinstein scandal and #MeToo movement to Manson murders

Brad Pitt believes the magnitude of the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct scandal is similar to the reaction that the Manson murders received in Hollywood 50 years ago.

The 55-year-old currently stars in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which covers the murder of actress Sharon Tate who was slain by the murderous cult, the Manson Family, in 1969.

Weinstein was accused of sexual misconduct towards several women and is currently facing trial on charges related to some of the allegations.

When asked if a scandal has since rocked Hollywood as much as the Manson murders did, Brad told the Sunday Times: ‘Harvey Weinstein.’

He added: ‘Is that bad taste? It’s more that I think we’re getting recalibrated. But [this time] in a good way.’

In 2018, Brad’s ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow claimed he threatened to ‘kill’ Weinstein when he allegedly behaved inappropriately towards her.

Recalling the incident in an interview with Howard Stern, Gwyneth claimed how the disgraced producer asked her for a massage while they were alone in a hotel room.

Gwyneth, 45, told the radio host: ‘It was the equivalent of throwing him against the wall.

‘“If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you”.’

Commending Brad for defending her, Gwyneth said: ‘He leveraged his fame and power to protect me at a time when I didn’t have fame and power yet.’

Brad has been busy promoting Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, directed by Quentin Tarantino and also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie.

However he’s particularly bonded with co-star Leo and it’s turned into one of the coolest bromances in Hollywood.

Surprisingly, it’s emerged that the pals bonded over their shared love of pottery. Who’d have thought?

A source told The Sun: ‘Brad’s got his own sculpting studio at his house and Leo loves coming over to use it. They sometimes hang out with Brad’s artist pals, but other times it’s just the two of them.

‘Leo brings sandwiches over from their favourite place, Fat Sal’s, and they spend their boys’ nights creating art until the early hours.’
