Brad Pitt has been spending plenty of time with Alia Shawkat.

The 55-year-old Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor and the 30-year-old Arrested Development actress were first seen together in September then October and were also spotted side by side last week.

But a source has told People that there is no romance between the May/December pair: ‘They are absolutely just friends.’

Entertainment Tonight added that they have been friends for several months.

E! said, ‘They’ve spent time together and have similar interests, but that’s the extent of it. 

‘They are not a couple and there’s nothing romantic going on. Brad has different friends in different walks of life and this is one of them. He enjoys being social with friends.’

Brad and Alia were first seen together on September 21.

They were seen exiting the opening of the show A Play is a Poem in Los Angeles side by side.

They also met the artist Martin Werthmann.

Alia has starred in Arrested Development, Whip It, The Final Girls, and Green Room. She also plays Dory Sief on Search Party.

Shawkat has been linked romantically to Michael Cera, and singer and producer Jack Antonoff. 

Last year the cover boy was tied to Dr Neri Oxman, a celebrated Israeli MIT professor. 

Earlier this year he was linked to American-Sikh spiritual guru Sat Hari Khalsa.

The Troy star has yet to finalize his divorce from Angelina Jolie, with whom he shares six kids – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox.

They are legally single but they reportedly still have to iron out financial agreements.

Pitt is clearly still trying to get over his split from Jolie. 

‘A breakup of a family is certainly an eye-opener that as one — and I’m speaking in general again — but as one needs to understand, I had to understand my own culpability in that, and what can I do better,’ he continued. ‘Because I don’t want to go on like this.’

Jolie is also getting used to her new life.

She told Madame Fiagro in October, ‘I feel like I’m coming full-circle. For this new Guerlain campaign, I asked myself: what is expected of me? And the answer was that I want to be who I’ve always been. So instead of hiding my wild side, I’m bringing it out. I want to feel free.’
