‘I’m not coming back!’ Boy George storms off The Voice after tantrum over ‘rude’ contestant …but fans slam the singer for his ‘immature’ behaviour towards the shy young busker

Boy George made a dramatic exit from The Voice Australia on Sunday night.

The 57-year-old threw a tantrum over what he deemed ‘rude’ behaviour from contestant Daniel Shaw.

The shy, 21-year-old busker from Melbourne had just given a moving performance, turning the chairs of all four mentors.

But a misunderstanding between Boy, who had failed to secure anyone for his team during the episode, and Daniel, led to an explosive storm off.

Boy asked Daniel, ‘Do you play guitar?’ to which Daniel responded: ‘I can play guitar, but no-one really cares if I play guitar.’

The 1980s star snapped back: ‘No-one cares? I do. I think after that comment, go with Delta. “No-one cares if I play guitar”? It’s a weird thing to say.’

Daniel looked embarrassed and flabbergasted as the British star then swore, before standing up and storming off.

Backstage, the Karma Chameleon singer angrily told a producer: ‘I’m annoyed. He turned around to me and goes, “No one cares if I play guitar”. Rude. That’s not cool.

He added a few choice swear words for the Melbourne singer-songwriter, before insisting: ‘ I’m not coming back.’

However fans online were less than impressed with the superstar tantrum, with many insisting Boy simply misunderstood what Daniel meant.

One person wrote:  ‘Honestly disgusted with @BoyGeorge’s attitude towards @danielshawmusic. The poor kid clearly meant that no-one on the street cares when he plays a guitar. There was absolutely no need to take it personally and walk out.’

Another fan Tweeted: ‘Dear @BoyGeorge  maybe that was a misunderstanding. The (shy) contestant said, “People dont care when I play guitar.” Perhaps he meant when he is busking ,he is not noticed, compared to when he is playing keyboards?”

Yet another person chimed in: ‘You were amazing, your voice is beautiful @BoyGeorge walking out was just immature and ridiculous.’
