Boy George doesn’t care if an LGBTQ+ star plays him in his upcoming biopic.

The 58-year-old is following in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury and Elton John as the next musician set to get his own movie.

And while fans have been speculating who will play the icon, with Sophie Turner being a strong contender, it seems the Karma Chameleon hitmaker isn’t fussed, as long as it’s the right person.

When approached by TMZ on the matter, the publication asked whether or not he’d cast someone in the leading role.

Staring into the camera he beamed: ‘That hasn’t been decided yet.’

The reporter pressed to see if it bothered him whether or not the star was from the LGBTQ+ community, to which the icon added: ‘Not really.’

Explaining his reasoning, the musician continued: ‘It would be the right person for the right moment, equality means equality for everyone, even normal people.

‘You can’t just choose people to be more equal than others, everyone has to be equal.’

Feeling pretty proud of his statement, he smirked: ‘I think that was pretty wise, you weren’t expecting that were you?’

What a queen.

Taron Egerton recently received criticism for being a straight actor playing a gay man in the Elton John biopic, Rocketman.

However, the Honky Cat hitmaker threw his support behind the 29-year-old, and called the backlash ‘bulls**t’.

Talking to The Sun about their casting decision, the 72-year-old said: ‘That’s all bulls**t, I’m sorry.

‘If people don’t like it, review-wise, or it doesn’t make one dollar, it’s the movie I wanted to make and that’s all that counts.’

He added: ‘I can look back and say, “You know what, I love it. I can live with it.”‘

Taron has also addressed the role, and his same-sex love scenes with Richard Madden, telling The Hollywood Reporter: ‘For me, kissing a man onscreen is no less appealing than kissing a woman onscreen.

‘I’m not in any way repulsed by the male form. It’s an uncomfortable thing regardless of who you’re with.’
