Manchester United and Real Madrid will have to pay over £107 million to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland before the summer of 2022, according to reports in Spain.

The 19-year-old found the back of the net once again as Dortmund put four past Schalke on Saturday, which was his 13th goal in his first 12 appearances for Lucien Favre’s side.

According to Sport, the Bundesliga outfit have a verbal agreement with Haaland and his agent, Mino Raiola, which aims to keep the striker at the club until 2022.

But should a bid exceeding £107m be tabled, Dortmund may reconsider their stance.

The club accepts that they may only be a stepping stone in Haaland’s career, as he plots a move to the very top.

Manchester United were close to securing the striker’s signature in January, but ultimately lost out to the German giants.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains a big fan of Haaland, having coached him earlier in his career at Molde in Norway.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to build a devastating front three at the Bernabeu including Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard by next summer.

The Galacticos have struggled fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus last summer and could look to the Norwegian striker as his long-term replacement.

However, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski believes Haaland may be better off staying at Dortmund for a few more seasons.

‘If he works hard, he can become a better player and eventually reach the top level,’ the Poland international said.

‘Therefore, it might be good for him if he would stay in the Bundesliga longer before taking the next step.’
