Boris has been busy in No10 and also met with Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas on Tuesday.

The meeting with Mr Ratas was Bo-Jo’s first major summit in Downing Street since becoming Prime Minister.

Today’s talks are seen as an opportunity for both to seek investment in economies that faces uncertain times.

Boris has warned Brussels that Britain will be leaving the EU “do or die” by October 31 and is now looking for new partners to trade with.

NEW TRADE WITH OLD FRIEND

Jordan hopes the UK will plunge cash into their markets, while the country endures austerity measures as part of a new International Monetary Fund financial regime.

Jordanian state TV said the meeting would focus on “the deep-rooted, strategic relations between Jordan and the UK, and current regional developments.”

Historically the two nations have enjoyed a long and healthy relationship, with Jordan, a predominantly Muslim nation, considered an ally of Britain in the Middle East.

While in February, Theresa May announced that the UK would underwrite a £188million World Bank loan to Jordan to help the country borrow money at a lower rate and manage its national debt.

The then PM also pledged to contribute £14 million to a new World Bank-led trust fund for Jordan to be spent on modernising government systems and promoting exports.

TENSIONS WITH IRAN

Today’s summit could also be an opportunity for the nations to discuss the heightened tensions with Iran after the state seized three oil tankers – two of which are British.

As a result the PM has ordered that all British-flagged vessels travelling through the Strait of Hormuz, off the coast of Iran, be accompanied.

Currently warships the HMS Duncan and HMS Montrose perform an escort for British ships passing through the Strait.

While Boris entertains at No10, Dominic Raab is on a three-day tour of Canada, the US and Mexico, in an effort to “fire up” Britain’s trade outside of the EU.

The Foreign Secretary met Donald Trump for talks in Washington last night and praised the US President’s “enthusiasm” for a relationship with the UK.

He said: “I was delighted to meet the president and the vice president on my first visit to Washington as Foreign Secretary.

“We appreciate the president’s warmth and enthusiasm for the UK-US relationship.

“The UK looks forward to working with our American friends to reach a free trade deal that is good for both countries, and co-operating on the common security challenges we face.”
