Boris Johnson is set to tell EU boss Jean-Claude Juncker on Monday: “Don’t you dare offer me a Brexit extension.”
And the Prime Minister will warn the Commission president he will reject it out of hand if he does.
Mr Johnson is gearing up for a fiery showdown with Mr Juncker when he meets him for the first time as PM in Luxembourg.
EU chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has also been called to the crunch lunch of snails, salmon and cheese for the PM’s tongue-lashing.

Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay will be on hand to hold Mr Johnson’s coat when things get heated.
Mr Johnson plans to say in uncompromising terms that he intends to defy Parliament’s demand to reject
no-deal and extend our EU membership by three months.
The PM will say: “Forget MPs’ Surrender Act. I don’t want, won’t negotiate and won’t accept another delay.”
And he will set the EU a deadline of the Brussels summit on October 18 to strike an agreement – or we will leave without a deal on October 31.
That means Mr Johnson is planning to break the law if necessary and is prepared to face jail after MPs voted for a delay.
A No10 source said: “MPs want to send the PM to Brussels, cap doffed, begging for another pointless extension. It’s beyond a joke.

“Most people want this resolved, with a deal if possible but without if necessary, and this is what the PM is trying to do.”
The source claimed good progress is being made with the DUP in Northern Ireland and the Dublin government on resolving the controversial Irish backstop.
And No10 is desperately trying to find a loophole in the law to get the PM off the hook. But Mr Johnson is braced for court wrangles after October 19.
He plans to face down MPs who he expects to try to revoke Article 50 and keep us in the EU.

The source added: “The PM will refuse to consider that in any circumstances.
“Conservative MPs don’t understand another delay would probably destroy the party and put Jeremy Corbyn in No10.”
The PM will tell Mr Juncker: “We’re leaving on October 31 come what may – so let’s work hard to get a deal. Some MPs have been peddling a myth that I am not serious about getting a deal.
“Nothing could be further from the truth. I am striving for a deal and I think we can achieve this.
“I will commit UK officials to work flat-out to come up with a new agreement without being trapped into EU laws.
“There should be no doubt about my determination. I will not ask for an extension.”
He will also brand the Commons a “zombie Parliament” that can only agree on more delay.
