Boris Johnson vows to make UK carbon-neutral by 2050 and Corbyn-neutral by 2020 as he reveals Conservative manifesto

BORIS Johnson vowed to tackle climate change yesterday and quipped he will make Britain “Corbyn- neutral by 2020”.

The PM warned of a festive horror show if the Labour leader forms a government next month.

He declared: “We cannot let this nightmare before Christmas come to pass.”

Mr Johnson hit out as he prepared to unveil his manifesto at a key Election battleground in the West Midlands today.

It contains a host of measures to cut the cost of living, tackle crime, boost schools and the NHS and protect the environment.

BoJo used his green announcement to tease the wannabe PM over his failure to decide whether he wants to Leave or Remain in the EU.

The PM said last night: “We now know the country can be carbon-neutral by 2050 and Corbyn-neutral by 2020 — as the leader of the Opposition has decided to duck the biggest issue facing our country today.

“If Corbyn can’t decide how he would vote in his own referendum, why would the EU even give him a deal – and, more importantly, how can we possibly trust him to lead the country?”

The blueprint also details his plan to deliver an “early Christmas present” by getting Brexit done and then focusing on people’s priorities.

Bojo will spend the 18 days left in the campaign hammering home the danger of letting Mr Corbyn anywhere near power.

It would mean months or years more Brexit deadlock, he warned, plus the prospect of two more referendums.

And he predicted the whole nation would breathe a sigh of relief with him if the Tories are given a mandate to leave the EU and deal with pressing domestic issues.

Mr Johnson said yesterday: “As families sit down to carve up their turkeys this Christmas, I want them to enjoy their festive-season free from the seemingly unending Brexit box-set drama.

“That’s why my early Christmas present to the nation will be to bring the Brexit bill back before the festive break, and get parliament working for the people.”

He added: “Don’t let Corbyn steal your Christmas — vote Conservative to get Brexit done and let 2020 bring peace, goodwill and prosperity to our country.”
