Boris Johnson has told the CBI conference of business leaders that Brexit uncertainty has left the UK economy like a supercar firing on half of its cylinders.
Accusing MPs of failing to honour their promise to respect the result of the 2016 vote, Johnson insisted a winter election was the only way to clear the ‘parliamentary blockage’ and end uncertainty for businesses
