Boris Johnson surrounded by nudists in bizarre Glastonbury clip

Before the Marmite politician became Mayor of London or joined the cabinet as Foreign Secretary, he filmed a segment for the BBC at Glastonbury Festival.

Filmed in 2000 when he was the Editor of The Spectator magazine, Boris joined by singer-songwriter Billy Bragg.

Things went immediately downhill before filming had even properly started after the Boris missed his train stop at Castle Cary.

In the clip, the small camera crew can be heard questioning where BoJo is as they wait on the platform.

After the train sped off a marshall explained: “He’s still on the train.

“Honestly I saw him on the train in First Class.

“Coach H. I’m fairly certain he was still on the train when it went off.”

Eventually arriving at the station, a flustered Boris simply shrugged: “I just, I don’t know… you’re not recording this now are you?

“I think I must have been in a trance.”

He added: “My trance was induced by an important lead in the Daily Telegraph.”

Later on in the programme Boris decides to get a henna tattoo.

As he emerges from the tent he is suddenly surrounded by a host of naked festival goers.

“Oh Christ. Oh b****y, hell I am surrounded by nudists,” Boris moans before being introduced one man in the buff called Richard.

Stuttering, Boris says: “Richard, how are you doing?

“I fully support your right to be naked, I am right behind it.”

When asked if he’s ever stripped off outdoors, he quickly replies: “Yes, I used to yeah.

“At home, on the front.”

This year Glastonbury looks set to be one of the warmest ever on record.

Despite normally being swamped with rain and mud, so far Worthy Farm has been a hot-bed of sun and green fields.
