Boris Johnson banned from selling £4million home – fuelling marriage rumours

Boris Johnson has been banned from selling his house without permission, fuelling claims that he could be set to marry his girlfriend.

The ex-Foreign Secretary and estranged wife Marina Wheeler are locked in a divorce – and the Mirror can reveal the title deed for their £3.75million, Grade-II listed Islington home was amended in April so neither can sell without a court’s approval.

Julie-Ann Harris, of law firm Coffin Mew, said: “This is often used to protect the interests of children – to protect their inheritance if there is a risk that one party seeks to remarry quickly and before the property is sold after the divorce.”

Mr Johnson’s spokesman declined to comment.

The would-be PM, 54, has been in a relationship with former Tory communications chief Carrie Symonds, 31, since last year.

She would become his third wife if the pair wed.

Ms Symonds watched the mop-haired MP face journalists this week as he launched his bid to become Prime Minister.

The couple live together in his £1million flat in South London, and he could even move her into Downing Street if he wins the keys to Number 10.

Carrie, who is said to call the potential PM “Bozzie Bear”, is an environmental campaigner who was named one of Britain’s most powerful PR experts in her Tory role.
