Bombshell trailer drops as Nicole Kidman asks if we’re ‘ready for war’

A new trailer for Bombshell has dropped, and we’re absolutely not ready for the film.

In the two-minute teaser of the fact-based drama, we’re introduced to Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron as they band together to take down Roger Ailes, accusing the former Fox CEO of sexual harassment.

The trailer begins with Margot’s character, Kayla Pospisil – a fictional composite character – being given a rundown of just what makes a good story at Fox.

‘Ask yourself, what would scare my grandmother or p**s off my grandfather? That’s a Fox story,’ she is told.

The camera pans to Nicole Kidman, starring as Gretchen Carlson, as she opens up about the remarks she has been met with backstage at the TV show, when she is asked if anyone else will be coming forward with their own allegations.

Charlize is unrecognisable as she takes on the role of Megyn Kelly, who came forward with her own sexual assault allegations against the Fox CEO.

‘Someone has to speak up. Someone has to get mad,’ Gretchen tells someone off-screen.

‘Ready to go to war?’

And if that’s not dramatic enough, the trailer was underscored with Billie Eilish’s banger Bad Guy.

Right on cue, fans rushed to praise the film, predicting all the awards next year.

‘That does look good,’ an impressed fan commented.

While another screamed: ‘NEXT AWARDS SEASON BELONGS TO THIS MOVIE AND THIS MOVIE ONLY.’

And a Twitter user added: ‘Charlize’s talent jumped out. We don’t deserve her.’

We totally agree.

The movie tells the story of the late Fox News chairman Roger Ailes and his descent into infamy amid sexual harassment charges in 2016 – a salient topic in the #MeToo era.

Bombshell boasts an all-star cast, with Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon and John Lithgow joining Nicole, Margot and Charlize in the line-up, with Jay Roach in the director’s chair.

Count. Us. In.

Bombshell is out in cinemas in January, 2020.
