Bobby Norris addresses rumours that TOWIE has been cancelled for good

Bobby Norris has addressed rumours that popular reality TV show The Only Way is Essex has been cancelled after receiving hundreds of messages.

In an Instagram post, Bobby revealed that TOWIE has not been cancelled but filming has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The 33-year-old said that he had received a large amount of messages asking him what was happening with the show and as he can’t reply to everyone individually, thought he would make a public video.

He said: “There’s been speculation and rumours that TOWIE has been cut and cancelled, it hasn’t. We were meant to start filming this week, we have had filming postponed.”

He added: “But as far as I’m aware we are playing things by ear and hope to start filming as soon as we psychically can again.

Bobby addressed the rumours

“With everything that is going on though it’s not as easy just to pick a day out of a diary because we don’t know what’s happening from day to day, hour to hour sometimes.

“I’m gutted, we were meant to be back filming this week, we’ve not filmed since Christmas, so of course we are getting to a fresh series, I’ve been looking forward to it.

“Things like this cannot be predicted though. We were scheduled to start this week, weeks prior to this pandemic, we are now faced with something as serious as this coronavirus that’s not just taking over the UK but is a global situation – health and safety has to come first.  It’s easy to forget what goes on to a tv show. I’m keeping fingers and toes crossed we can get back into filming soon.”

He went on to add that because, gyms, bars and restaurants are closed it makes it impossible for them to film.

There have been 25 series of The Only Way is Essex and was a huge hit when it first began back in 2010.
