BLACKPINK are going from strength to strength, and now they’ve broken another YouTube record.
Yes, seriously.
The K-Pop girl group’s song, DDU-DU DDU-DU surpassed 800 million views on YouTube on Saturday, after it was released in 15 June last year.
As a result, it has become the first music video released by a K-Pop group to reach the 800 million mark.
And, not only that, it is the fastest time it’s taken to reach said benchmark.
Basically, your faves released a banger last year and are still smashing it.
The group, consisting of Jennie, Jisoo, Rose and Lisa, made a huge arrival on to the worldwide pop scene in recent weeks, after critically acclaimed performances at Coachella festival and LA’s The Forum.
Everyone wants a piece of BLACKPINK, and Harry Styles was spotted watching the band perform at The Forum, and Will Smith hastened to take a selfie with the women at Coachella.
In fact, after they performed on James Corden’s The Late Show, the talk show officially converted into a BLINK, and turned his Twitter into a fan account for the girl group.
In the UK, the band have only hit the UK charts once, with Kill This Love which reached number 33 in the charts.
DDU-DU-DDU-DU, reached number 78 in the UK – but it got to number 55 in the Billboard Charts, while Kill This Love peaked at 41.
We can’t wait to see what they do next.
