Black hole breakthrough: Study offers slim hope for intergalactic travel through wormholes

Sagittarius A* (read: A-star) is the supermassive black hole in the dead centre of the Milky Way.

The black hole sits an incomprehensible 25,640 lightyears or 150,727,950,000,000,000 miles from Earth.

In other words, it is extremely unlikely humans will ever reach the black hole to find out if it is indeed a wormhole.

Astronomers, however, might one day have the technology to look at stars directly orbiting the black hole to test the hypothesis.
