Birds of Prey trailer: Is there a trailer for new DC Harley Quinn movie?

Harley Quinn is back in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The new DC movie follows the psycho killer after she parts company with the Joker. With Margot Robbie in the lead role again, fans are desperate to see what’s in store.

Is there a trailer for Birds of Prey?

A new trailer for Birds of Prey has just dropped, finally giving fans an idea of what to expect in the upcoming DC movie.

First, we hear Harley Quinn telling us who she is, and revealing she has left the Joker.

She is clearly going through a new phase of life as she cuts her pigtails off with scissors and starts throwing knives at a drawing of her former lover.

Harley says: “You know what a harlequin is?

“A harlequin’s role is to serve, it’s nothing without a master.

“But no-one gives two s***s who we are beyond that.”

It is then revealed she is telling her friend Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) her story, as she continues: “The Joker and I broke up.

“I wanted a fresh start but it tuns out I wasn’t then only dame in Gotham looking for emancipation.”

Next, Harley is joined by some strong women, including Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), as they are seen trying to protect a young girl, Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco).

However, they will forced to deal with some resistance, namely by Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) who tells his contract killer Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina) that he wants Harley stopped.

At this, she is seen running from scary men with guns and tied up while more of those scary men surround her.

She is then heard telling her female assassin mates: “He is after all of us now.

“None of us are walking out of here unless we work together.”

Renee does not seem impressed by this, especially when Harley starts talking about ordering pizza like a sleepover.

However, there are also surreal moments in this movie, as Harley is seen dancing in a red dress, with quaffed hair, clearly paying homage to Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

How these moments will factor in is hard to tell, but Harley has a strong message for those men who want to hurt her.

She adds: “I’m the one they should be scared of, not you, and not Mr J.

“Because I’m Harley freakin’ Quinn!”

The trailer ends with her giving Cassandra a funny lecture, telling her not to refer to women as “chicks,” as she throws a dynamite out of her car to stop the bad guys.

What is Birds of Prey about?

Birds of Prey is all about Harley Quinn, and her life after Suicide Squad and the break-up of her destructive relationship with the Joker (Jared Leto.)

Now, she must team up with a group of female fighters to help save young Cassandra, who mistakenly picks up something “belonging” to the fearsome Black Mask.

Birds of Prey is out in cinemas on February 7, 2020
